Our Perspective on Claims Reporting
Built from firsthand claims experience and a practical understanding of reporting.
Brandon Bowker, Founder
After nearly 10 years working closely with claims teams in the Property and Casualty space, I have seen claims operations from nearly every angle.
I started my career as a claims adjuster, first in auto and later in homeowners. Over time, it became clear how much impact small details could have on outcomes. A single policy reference, a missed data point, or an overlooked exception could change timelines, costs, and the overall quality of a claim.
That interest in how decisions were being made led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Data Analytics and move into a Claims Business Analyst role. In that position, I worked closely with adjusters, managers, and leadership, combining field experience with data to improve workflows and support operational goals.
What consistently stood out was how much of claims reporting still relied on outdated and manual processes. Even within large and sophisticated organizations, visibility into performance and trends was often limited. The mindset was often that if things were functioning, there was no need to change them. In practice, many of those processes were inefficient, time consuming, and prone to error.
I experienced this firsthand as an adjuster. Hours were spent searching documents, pulling reports, validating citations, and manually tracking performance. It slowed the work and made it harder to focus on what actually mattered. At that point, the question became obvious. If claims decisions depend on consistent and accurate data, why was reporting not built to properly support that work.
As analytics tools became more accessible, I saw both opportunity and risk. Generic reporting solutions often lacked claims specific context. Automation without proper oversight could introduce mistakes or lead to incorrect interpretations. I was not interested in replacing adjusters or operational judgment. I wanted to support it.
That thinking led to the creation of CAT Response Reporting.
This business was built to provide structured, claims focused reporting and performance analytics that improve visibility, accountability, and decision making across claims operations. We use consistent reporting frameworks, apply the right metrics for each team, and deliver insights that actually help people do their jobs better, while offering a more cost effective alternative for organizations that need reliable reporting without the overhead of building it in house.
The goal has always been to help claims organizations operate more efficiently, make better informed decisions, and gain confidence in the data guiding their operations.
